A bunch of clowns

Half of my personality is that of a 4 yr old that won't jump in a moderately cold pool. I still can't figure out why being a clown is an appealing profession. It's like a contact sport without any glory, only shame. I'm sure most of you have seen the show. Hell, they've been doing the same show for over a hundred years.

They are nonetheless entertaining. A bunch of clowns run in the circles then crash into each other over and over and over. Occasionally one will jump over the collision pile avoiding disaster for himself only to take his eyes off pole in front of him. BLAMO. Poor clown. The bunch of clowns will keep falling into the same crash pile they always have for hundreds of years. No plan, they all get up and repeat. Clowns never learn. We laugh and the show ends.

I want to ask you a question though....

Look around your office or wherever your work place may be. Look at the people around you. How many people around you suffer from the same repetitive problems over and over? Is there anyone around who has the 'other clown' syndrome? The other clown floats on by with no or little foresight for the future- no aspirations, no future goals, just sliding on by on their natural, god-given talents. Until one day, the other clown hits a wall.

Which clown are you?

What can you do to change your situation?

Finally, look at the people around you who are the most successful. Listen and learn from them; inquire what steps they have taken to get to where they are now. Because otherwise you are most likely associating with a bunch of clowns.
